SUPER BOWL PLAYER TO KEYNOTE TONER & IMAGING SUMMIT

February 22, 2015

Dan Burmeister

Recycling Times Media (RTM), with support from the Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly (GrCI), is proud to announce that former Washington Redskins Super Bowl player, Dan Burmeister (pictured), will kick-off this year's imaging summit by delivering the Keynote Address.

Burmeister, a former NFL player and a 25-year veteran of the imaging industry, is currently Eastman Kodak’s Director of Sales for the Extended Materials Business. Prior to joining Kodak, Burmeister served with other major imaging industry icons, such as Xerox and Océ. Burmeister said, “I can share how the same concepts that govern professional football also apply to the ultra competitive imaging industry. I plan also to talk about the challenges that face the international imaging industry, moving forward, and discuss ‘game planning’ for future success.”

The imaging event, originated in 1984, continues to be the unique opportunity for OEM and aftermarket players, and for suppliers to these large and small producers in the print consumables industry, to meet face-to-face in a business-to-business (B2B) format with their clients, suppliers, and competitors.

In May 2015, attendees, delegates, exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors of the former Toner Conference will join other imaging industry leaders at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the two-day RT Imaging Summit & Expo. There they will explore advances in bio- and petro-toners, the battle with inkjet for dominance in the office market, the future for toner in commercial printing, and industry trends, technical, marketing, and legal issues.

With consummate rights to the former Toner Conference series, RT Media now controls the industry’s largest global audience with its Summits and Expos in China, Spain, Mexico, and the US. RT Media also commands the largest readership of its monthly imaging consumables magazine, Recycling Times magazine, published in English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. These properties also strengthen RT Media’s website (iRecyclingTimes.com) which already has more browsers, spending more time and viewing more pages than any other imaging industry website in the world. Further, RT Media also runs RemaxAsia Expo, the largest imaging consumables industry exposition in the world, with 453 exhibits and 13,563 visitors from 85 countries attending in Zhuhai, China this past October.

Art Diamond—the 58-year veteran of the imaging industry who launched the first Toner Conference 31 years ago—will co-chair the Las Vegas RT Imaging Summit & Expo. Diamond is known internationally as a consulting chemical engineer, holds 15 US imaging patents, and authored the “Handbook of Imaging Materials.”

A strategic alliance with the Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly (GrCI)—www.grci.calpoly.edu—struck in January 2014 with former Toner Conference organizer, The Tiara Group—continues to build further momentum as the 2015 event attracts delegates from across the industry and around the world.

Tony Lee, Managing Director of RT Media, the organizer of the new look RT Imaging Summit and Expo, agrees that it is an important step in pulling the global industry together. “We are pleased to welcome former Super Bowl star Dan Burmeister, when he sets the stage for our lively, international event In May. We invite our global network of attendees, readers, exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors to our second RT Imaging Summit and Expo in Las Vegas.”

The RT Imaging Summit & Expo will run May 14-15, 2015 at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

RT Media Partners with Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly to Host Imaging Summit In Las Vegas

January 26, 2015

On the back of acquiring the highly respected, Californian based Toner Conference series in late 2014, Recycling Times Media (RT Media) has secured the support of the world class Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly, GrCI, in promoting the RT Imaging Summit and Expo.

GrCI has swung its full support behind RT Media to host the RT Imaging Summit & Expo on May 14 and 15 at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Founded in 1901, Cal Poly is a public university located in San Luis Obispo, California. Being in close proximity to Silicon Valley, the “high-tech” center for some of the world’s leading software and technology developers, Cal Poly is uniquely and geographically positioned in North America between Asia and Europe. In fact, one might argue that Cal Poly is not on the West Coast, but on the East Coast of the Pacific Rim. For this and related reasons, the GrCI is the best partner to host this unique summit and expo.

Attendees, delegates, exhibitors, media, speakers and sponsors of the fresh two-day RT Imaging Summit & Expo in Las Vegas will join other imaging industry leaders to explore the impact of the merger and acquisition of imaging giants in 2015, to unpack the impact of industry legal battles, to examine market trends, technical updates, and explore advances in bio- and petro-toners, and the impact of the growth of inkjet technologies.

In addition to acquiring the rights to The Tiara Group's celebrated Toner Conference series, RT Media also successfully acquired the US-based imaging media icon, Recharger Magazine and the Spain-based Consumibles E-Magazine in 2014. The annual Toner Conference series, birthed in 1984, continues to be the unique opportunity for OEM and aftermarket players in the print consumables industry, along with their raw material and plant machinery suppliers, to meet face-to-face in a business-to-business (b2b) format with clients and competitors.

With consummate rights to the Toner Conference series, RT Media now controls the industry's largest global audience with its summits and expos in China, Spain, Mexico and the US. RT Media also commands the largest readership of its monthly imaging consumables magazine, Recycling Times, published in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Russian. These properties also strengthen RT Media's website (iRecyclingTimes.com) which already has visitors that spend more time and view more pages than any other industry news website in the world. Further, each October, RT Media runs RemaxAsia Expo the largest imaging consumables industry exposition in the world, with 453 exhibits and 13,563 visitors attending in Zhuhai China, from 85 countries in 2014.

As a part of this agreement, Art Diamond -- the 58-year veteran of the imaging industry who launched the Toner Conference series 31 years ago -- will assist as co-chair of the Las Vegas RT Imaging Summit & Expo. Diamond is known internationally as a consulting chemical engineer, holds 15 US imaging patents, and authored the "Handbook of Imaging Materials." Diamond said, "I'm very happy we reached this agreement with Cal Poly and The Tiara's Terry Gorka. Now, two great events will merge into one splendid, omnibus summit and expo, promising a focus on issues, a larger crowd, savings on tickets, and affordable room rates at one of the largest hotels on the Vegas Strip."

Lyndee Sing, newly appointed Director of the GrCI, said, "The Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly is committed to supporting technological advances in the production and distribution of print. Developments in toner technology, and the printing systems that use them, have kept the graphic communication industry vibrant with great promise for profitable growth in the future. Partnering with RT Media for the 2015 RT Imaging Summit further affirms our commitment to the industry." Dr Harvey Levenson, Cal Poly Professor Emeritus, and well-known industry expert, will also be advising on the planning stages of the conference and also presenting. Levenson will be introducing a new topic on "fending off patent trolls and protecting OEM intellectual property." Levenson added, "This is a vitally important topic particularly for technologies that are software driven as is the case with most toner and inkjet applied technologies."

Tony Lee, Managing Director of RT Media said it's an important step in pulling the global industry together. "We are pleased to welcome former Toner Conference attendees and sponsors to our global network of events and publications."

The RT Imaging Summit & Expo will run May 14-15, 2015 at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
